If you're someone who enjoys being hands-on, working outdoors, and making a practical difference in how we manage land, crops, and the environment — then ACDC Chemical Spray training could be your ticket to a rewarding career.
But first… what exactly is it?
What is ACDC Chemical Spray Training?
ACDC stands for Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control. It’s a short, Nationally Recognised course designed to teach you how to safely prepare, apply, and manage chemicals used to control pests, weeds, and diseases in a variety of settings.
You’ll cover:
- AHCCHM304 – Transport and store chemicals
- AHCCHM307 – Prepare and apply chemicals
- AHCPMG301 – Control weeds
This training is a key requirement for applying for a commercial ACDC licence in Queensland, which is mandatory if you're spraying chemicals for work.
Why Work in These Industries?
Here’s the thing: the industries that require chemical spraying aren’t going anywhere. In fact, they’re growing.
According to data from Labour Market Insights:
- Australia’s agriculture industry is projected to generate over $70 billion in gross value in 2025, with ongoing growth expected.
- Local councils and civil infrastructure projects continue to prioritise vegetation and land management.
- Land rehabilitation is a major focus across mining and energy sectors, especially in regional QLD.
Plus, more than ever, environmental and biosecurity standards are tightening. That means qualified people who can apply chemicals safely and legally are in demand.
